It’s been a while since Bruce Timm worked on a DC project (75th Anniversary short aside) so it’s good to see him back. And what a way to come back, presenting the beloved Justice League as pseudo villains. I am particularly looking forward to see the portrayal of Lex Luthor as his arc on the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited was really interesting.
There’s also a preview video with discussions with Bruce Timm and Andrea Romano:
In a move that probably isn’t tied to the hype around Civil War talk but it’s fun to speculate anyway, today we got the announcement of Warner Bros’ superhero films leading up to 2020.
Batman v Superman
Justice League 2
I like DC’s diversity, we have Jason Momoa playing Aquaman along with Ray Fisher playing Cyborg and of course The Rock playing Black Adam. And we still don’t know what Green Lantern we’re getting, it could possibly be John Stewart. And finally a female superhero film (excluding Elektra). Hopefully this gives Marvel the incentive to finally give us Black Panther and Ms. Marvel movies.
It’s also been announced that Ezra Miller will play the Flash, breaking the hearts of CW fans everywhere. I know we’ve been told there would be no crossover, but the lack of Green Arrow casting still gave me hope.
There was a rumour going around for the Suicide Squad lineup the other day that didn’t feature Harley Quinn which is shocking to me, surely she’s going to be included, she needs to be on the big screen.
There will also be standalone Superman and Batman films.
Am I the only one waiting for the Comic Con panel that will show the whole cast similar to that epic Avengers one.
New clip from DC’s Throne of Atlantis is 1 minute into the video and shows Aquaman being a badass in a bar fight. Also features some more DC Comic Con footage.
Aquaman, unjustly, is usually ridiculed in the media, however he dominates and here shows why he is on of the most interesting DC heroes. I love seeing Atlantis on screen so I’m very excited for this film’s release. Plus we get a hilarious origin for Aquaman’s name.
Rejoice! Bruce Timm is doing something for DC. The man who has created some of the most iconic take on the DC characters will be executive producing a YouTube series for Machinima called Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles. It will serve as a tie in to a DC Animated movie, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
The series will depict Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in an alternate world where these iconic characters will be darker than people have seen before. Sounds like these guys
Is it too much to ask for us to get Bruce Conroy, Susan Eisenberg and George Newbern back to voice their roles?
Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicle is set to come out in Spring 2015 with the movie to follow.
